The Symphony Showhouse is one of the major fundraisers for the Wichita Symphony Orchestra... we are proud to have been involved in this worthy project for many years. Following are a few of our featured projects. WICHITA SYMPHONY SHOWHOUSE XIV
As a contrast to today's often hectic pace, the clean lines of contemporary design are most attractive. The Colony door style combines natural materials with basic form and leaves the decor open to imagination. Today's renditions have a softer feel than earlier contemporary design. This creates a flexible backdrop for whatever your lifestyle may encompass. The selected Harbor Mist stain gives a subtle neutral palate - perfect for just about any color combination desired.
Tranquil and serene, this master bath was created as a spa retreat for relaxing at the end of a busy day. Imagine a long, luxurious bath in the whirlpool tub set in a custom teak tub deck. The shoji screen and tonsu-inspired clothing cabinet lend an oriental flair to the sleek, contemporary lines created by stepped Corian vanities with vessel sinks, stainless steel and chrome hardware and fittings, mosaic glass tile and beach grass Lumicor door panels. Elegant wall sconces offer light as well as make a bold statement at the his and her vanities along with medicine cabinets cleverly concealed behind framed artwork. Niches include storage cabinets behind cherry doors and provide display space for favorite art pieces. Step into this blissful environment and let your stress melt away!

MORE PHOTOS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PHOTO GALLERY The European heritage kitchen creates a longing for that favorite Italian recipe and an appetite for style. Visions of an Italian coastal villa are created with large, airy spaces, flagstone floors, and thick plastered walls. The massive but finely detailed hood features custom-finished sconces and a "la Bella Cocina" cameo plaque of terra cotta. Cookware and utensils are festively displayed, modern gadgets are hidden from view, and everyday dishes are proudly accessible. This room was designed for practicality but entices with flair and panache.

MORE PHOTOS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PHOTO GALLERY Wood-Mode's Brandywine kitchen combines fine traditional details with clean-line sophistication. The result is a unique design with a variety of personalities; a very traditional bake center with a terrific view, a cooktop positioned to share the days' activities with the family, and customized display areas for a wealth of keepsakes, cookbooks, and curios. The cabinetry was selected in richly grained cherry with Wood-Mode's famous hand-rubbed finish. The DuPont Corian countertops feature an original inlay, designed by Jan and meticulously hand-crafted by the TopMaster Corian team. Sharon Whisnand of Specialty Painting incorporated the inlay design into her hand-painted cornices over the windows, and positive/negative glazing on the walls, as well as a trompe l'oeil chimney to finish out the details.

MORE PHOTOS CAN BE SEEN IN THE PHOTO GALLERY Since the kitchen at "The Inn" was open to all guests, it needed to be as inviting and appealing as the individual suites. With this thought in mind, we selected pine cabinetry to create an aura of kitchens past. The pickled and antiqued finish allows the unique beauty of the wood to shine through. Look closely, because there is a wealth of detail - cubby holes, open shelves, special drawers - all with very special functions. The unmistakable look of English Country - like leaving the city for fresher air!
All of the photos presented on this website are actual designs by Jan Parker, CKD, or Wendy Mayes, CKD, ASID for clients in the Wichita area. If you would like to discuss our design services for your home, contact us. |
